CROATIA OPEN 2010 - COMPETITION AREAS

CRNI LUG 2 / 1:10 000 / E=5 m / May 2008
Hard karst, many depresions, holes, hills, path network, open areas and rocks. Visibilty varies from excelent to reduced. Intricate stone features which pose real challenge to run at full speed. Part of map is in area of NP „Risnjak“ soo please take care for environment – throw garbage in cans predicted for that. Map is drawn on altitude from 700 – 750 m.

OPATIJA / 1:3 000 / E=2 m / January 2006
One of most attractive area for sprint event in Croatia is definetly Opatija with it´s Mediteranian environment. Altought not soo big map - but on relativly small area you will be in position to run on Adriatic coast, urban parts and amazing park area full of big boulders and cliffs. Visibility varies from excelent to poor. Map is drawn on altitude from 0 – 30 m.

KREŽULNA / 1:10 000 / E=5 m / May 2006
Extreme highland karst on altitude from 935 – 1100 m above sea level. An real labyrinth of rock and relief features near plateu Lividraga. Part of map is in area of NP „Risnjak“ soo please take care for environment – throw garbage in cans predicted for that. Visibility is relatively good but can be reduced in rocky areas. Courses for younger clases will avoid the extreme parts.

LIVIDRAGA / 1:10 000 / E=5 m / May 2006
Mixed terrain – karst and continentall on 900 – 1150 m above sea level. Developed path network, many relief details and point features (rocks, knolls, pits etc.) combined with slopes full of depresions. Map is in heart of NP „Risnjak“. Visibility is ranging from good to excelent. Mainly beech forest.

LIVIDRAGA / 1:10 000 / E=5 m / May 2006
Highland karst. Lividraga plateu provides real pleasure of orienteering. Rare type of terrain in this part of Europe. Flat, relativly fast but tehnicly quite demanding terrain on 1000 m above sea level. Visibility varies from reduces to good. Map is in heart of NP „Risnjak“ suronded by massive mountain chain with peaks from 1300 – 1500 m above sea level.
