Fužine - candidate for Europaean destination of excellence
Commission of the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) and the Ministry of Tourism has selected five Croatian-destination areas along the coast, rivers and lakes in final round of selection for the Croatian representative to the European destinations of excellence (video) award 2009/2010. whose theme is "Tourism along the water." Finalists are; Karlovac, island Krapanj, Ilok, Nin and Fužine.
Croatian Tourist Board is included in this project of EU Member States and joined at the very beginning of the 2006. EDEN-project objectives are, among other things, the promotion of European tourism, creating awareness of the diversity and quality of European tourism offer, the promotion of countries and regions, alleviating of senzation and networking and promotion of the winning destination.
This year's winner will be known in early April, and so far there were three locations from Croatia declared as the European destination of excellence (EDEN 2006/2007. - Sveti Martin na Muri, EDEN 2007/2008. - Đurđevac and EDEN 2008/2009 . - NP Northern Velebit.
Let us recall, Fužine in the last year were part of Croatia open, where we organized WRE sprint event on the map Purga, which includes Fužine and surrounding area, among which lake Bajer stands out while this year, in this region we will provide training maps.
